2021: The idea was born from a meeting with Francesca Tirico, which took place in 2016 when Carol began preparing Francesca for an English exam at La Sapienza University of Rome.
Carol supported Francesca in her studies for several years before their paths diverged. Carol’s affection for Francesca remained strong, as did her desire to create projects that would showcase Francesca’s talents, even if this aspiration lay dormant for a time.
Francesca, a mind of extraordinary capabilities, writes poetry and verses with remarkable clarity of vision and an uncommon sensitivity. These pieces, written during her high school years, had never been published. To ensure this intensity reaches readers more effectively, Carol envisioned “A Notebook” that would accompany the verses with powerful artistic and evocative images, giving free rein to imagination.
Carol approached Elisabetta to redesign Francesca’s personal website and her association’s site.
Elisabetta identified Giulia, a fashion designer and illustrator, as the perfect artist to visually represent Francesca’s message through forms and colors.
A dynamic and profound dialogue began between Francesca and Giulia. Through their collaboration, the first 12 poems were brought to life in an Advance Calendar (December 2021) as part of the Notebook project.
Meanwhile, Carol developed the idea of a presentation that would truly honor the artists. She imagined pages intentionally left “blank,” allowing readers, inspired by Francesca’s intimate thoughts, to pen their own reflections or sketches. Collaborating with Elisabetta, she crafted an elegant and refined paper format.
Today, anyone who owns this format can connect with the most artistic aspects of Francesca’s and Giulia’s extraordinary lives.
What happened after the printing of the Notebook??
Superhubilities:
Francesca’s inability to communicate entirely autonomously, her incredible sensitivity and writing
talent, paired with Giulia’s creativity and interpretation, form the core of their superhubilities. These
abilities shift attention away from the fact that Francesca has a rare and degenerative genetic
disorder, or that Giulia uses a wheelchair.
The focus is entirely on their talents, enabling us to go beyond.
